Description :

For your consideration, today is an antique Cap and Ball Percussion Fire Pistol made around the 1850s by J. Tarratt, a prominent English gunmaker. This firearm is in great condition. It includes the original ramrod and an extra firing cap stored in the ammunition chamber in the weapons handle. This beautiful gun features hand-engravings around the trigger guard, lock plate, ramrod, and ball and cap storage compartment. This is an awesome piece of Weaponry and an even cooler piece of History. Take it home today!

The earliest records of Percussion Fire weapons can be traced back to the early 1800s in Europe. The original inventor of the percussion ignition firing system was clouded by dozens of Europeans claiming patent rights, but Reverand Alexander John Forsyth of Aberdeenshire, Scotland was granted Patentship over the invention after having proved to have developed the process between 1805 and 1807. His ideas revolutionized weaponry and sparked a new age of Firearms.
